Great idea but not useable
I was very excited to get these but they do not work at all on my baby's car seat. I read one review that specified they are not for infant seats so we'll keep them and hope they work on a toddler seat...

Must squeeze the band around the side plastic molding of car seat! works!
I bought a Recaro car seat for my 3 year old and bought the Buckle-Pals at the same time. We love both! I definitely recommend installing buckle-Pals with the car seat OUT of the car. It is important to turn the car seat so you are facing its back side. You will see the Car seats' rigid plastic sides (under the fabric cover) and how the plastic curves deeply inward at the left and right sides. When you install the Buckle-Pals...we found out (and directions do say) that you need to squeeze the Buckle-Bals band (it flexs and holds the pose you put it in) onto and within the curve of the plastic sides. Literally bend it to form the shape of the plastic. When you look at your seat you will see exactly what I mean. We found directions on the manufacturers website that had pictures. They should include them in the product box - it was very helpful to see. It installed in minutes and holds right onto the seat side this way. At first we thought that the hooks really didn't save us trouble, but then after a few times in and out of the car, we realized that if we are UNBUCKLING him and he is still seated and we put the straps into the hooks at that time, then when we come back to the car to buckle him in again, the straps are out of the way and it is a blessing! So now we do it that way all the time and are thankful to have them.

Does not work with Recaro Signo Convertible Car Seat
We bought the buckle pals nearly at the sametime we bought the Recaro Signo Convertible Car Seat. The buckle pals were hard to install and came off at first use. It seems too much trouble for the convenience that it purports to give.
